Thanks SO MUCH for sharing your notes, Stephanie! Looks like this was an awesome conference to have attended! There are certainly loads of wisdom in those tidbits. My favorite from your list was by Gennifer Choldenko:

What a great set of notes. This was my absolute favourite tidbit (besides the doodles, which are awesome of course!):

“Number one challenge is figuring out what to omit. What you omit is more important than what you keep in the story.”

Thank you Susanne! I’m not sure if there’s a lantern fish in Finding Nemo, but it wouldn’t surprise me as it seems vaguely familiar. I don’t have a copy to watch. Let me know if there is if you watch it. Hope you have a great weekend too!

Thanks Susanne. The bird drawings were fun to do. Usually I just doodle whatever while taking notes. It was fun to have one subject for the whole conference (not that I didn’t do some other doodles too).

Hi Stephanie, I like your new avatar. I also like your drawing of the lantern fish. Reminds me of the movie Nemo for some reason. Isn’t there a scene with a lantern type fish? Guess I’ll have to watch the movie again to see if I’m right.

Thanks Courtney! The dog is yawning, but I like the idea of him talking the cat’s ear off (which would explain the cat’s look, well that and no umbrella).

Yay, I’m in the short hair club! I usually cut it on purpose too. It’s so short right now that I can’t even get a bobby pin to stay in! It was worth it though. The bad hair cut was really bad, even after 2 months! BTW, I like your hair on your FB pic. I just noticed it the other day. It looks good.

It’s great to be back, especially now that I know I can step back a little when I need to. Still working on finding balance, but I suppose everyone is. Things change all the time so it’s a constant process (or at least it is for me).
