   I love how happy this picture makes me! I found that interesting because ghost usually make me think of loss & grief etc (and also haunted houses!), giving me a tug of melancholy, but the whimsy in this just made me grin. She’s having fun in the next life!!

   Yay! I’m really glad it’s a happy painting for you, especially if you usually get a bit of melancholy from ghosts. She really is enjoying being able to fly.

   BTW, in college, someone gave me a critique of my work and said I painted, “happy little dead people.” I guess I’m continuing that tradition even though my work is very different now. (Then I wasn’t even painting dead people, it just looked like I was sometimes.)

   Happy Little Dead People sounds like it should be the name of a comic book series or something!!!

   It does, doesn’t it. I’ve been trying to figure out how to use it for many years. I like the idea of a comic book series, or a comic strip. What about something like Peanuts, but with zombies, vampires and ghosts? Ooh, or For Better or For Worse – the Pattersons as dead people
